Richmond co-captain Dylan Grimes has signed a new deal with the club, set to stay a Tiger until at least the end of 2024.

Grimes' new deal will see him enter his 15th season in the AFL, having first been drafted to the club in 2009. Since his debut in Round 22, 2010, Grimes has played 215 games for the club including all eight so far this season.

The 31-year-old is averaging 8.8 disposals per game in 2023 and ranks second league wide for spoils, continuing his role as an important pillar in Richmond's defence.

In addition to his premiership success at the club, Grimes won Richmond's best and fairest award in 2021 and has served as co-captain alongside Toby Toby Nankervis since 2022.

Richmond's general manager of football talent Blair Hartley said the club was looking forward to the three-time premiership Tiger sticking around for another season.

"Dylan has thrived since being voted in by his peers to captain the Club and continues to be a consistent performer for us on game day," Hartley said.

"His leadership, drive, and guidance on and off the field for his teammates is first class, helping to improve other players and our football program as a whole.

“We look forward to Dylan continuing to add to the outstanding contribution he has made to Richmond over 14-years.”
