Fremantle's dominant season has extended beyond just the AFL in 2026.
The Dockers' WAFL-aligned club Peel Thunder has also pushed into premiership favouritism as it - like its AFL pairing - sits two wins clear in first place.
While the success for both sides is a bonus for Fremantle, it does open the door for opposition clubs to spot bargain deals among the Dockers' listed players dominating at WAFL level.
At the weekend, Fremantle had 12-listed players rolling around in the magoos. And of those 12, five could make an impact at AFL level should they be targeted this off-season.
Sean Darcy
The most obvious case of an AFL-quality player that is stuck in the twos.
Despite his injury troubles that have plagued him in recent years, Darcy is a strong force whose ruck craft remains elite.
His past three games for the Thunder have seen Darcy average 22.3 disposals and 45.3 hit-outs per match.
The 28-year-old is stuck behind superstar Luke Jackson and the more mobile Mason Cox in the Dockers' ruck pecking order, and for the sake of his career, he should see if greener pastures lie elsewhere this off-season.
Darcy is signed on until the end of 2030.
A young team such as Richmond could do well in seeking an experienced replacement for captain Toby Nankervis as he sits in the twilight of his career.
Or Geelong, who has long been linked with Darcy, could finally bite the bullet and trade for the big man who comes from south west Victoria.
