Geelong premiership defender Jake Kolodjashnij is understandably "rattled" but is in a "holding pattern" regarding his future in the wake of the concussion waiver debacle.
Kolodjashnij was revealed as the Cats player at the centre of the saga who signed a deal in 2024 to alleviate the club of all rights over future brain injuries after he'd suffered multiple head knocks throughout his career.
Later that year, he penned a two-year extension, which expires at season's end.
Geelong assistant coach Nathan Buckley provided insight into how Kolodjashnij is handling the situation over the past few days.
“Everything was still sort of coming to pass at that point (on Friday), and it's fair to say he was pretty rattled at the time,” Buckley said on Fox Footy's On the Couch.

“He was going along his business, having chosen his path forward and wanting to play the game and understanding the risks that I suppose the circumstance that he was in.
“But yeah, with the advent of this revelation, his circumstances have changed quite significantly.
“Didn't see him at the club today, but the club is putting a lot of support around him, as you would suspect.
“But yeah, he's in a holding pattern, waiting to see what happens to his career beyond here.”
The Cats are tipped to receive a sanction greater than Carlton's $75,000 for its handling of the Elijah Hollands situation earlier in the year.
Geelong will respond to the AFL's 'please explain' by the end of Tuesday.
The league delivered a fresh memo, via AFL360, urging all clubs to come forward with any agreements or arrangements surrounding concussion.
“If you have any concerns in relation to any present agreement or arrangement that may be inconsistent with the AFL and AFLPA's requirements (as made clear by this communication), you are requested to bring this to the attention of the AFL and AFLPA as soon as possible,” the statement reads.
