Hawthorn's Ty Vickery has long been the whipping boy of AFL fans all over the country.

Following his selection at No.8 in the 2008 National Draft, Vickery failed to live up to expectations in his eight seasons at Punt Road.

He then made the move to Hawthorn at the end of last season, with many expecting master coach Alastair Clarkson to be able to get the best out of the 200cm forward/ruckman.

However, after managing just six games this season and kicking just two goals it appears the Hawks have lost patience with the 27-year-old just one year into his three-year deal.

Damien Barrett reports the Hawks want the former Tiger out of the club at soon as this off-season.

“They’re not happy with him off-field, they are not happy with him on-field,” Barrett said on AFL Trade Radio on Wednesday.

“Ideal world for them would have him outside that footy club.

“One year of the contract to remain, there’s trigger points into 2019 which I don’t think he can meet even if he plays a full quota of games next year.

“Right now, one year into it and a handful of matches only, they want him out.”

Vickery played a total of 119 games with Richmond, kicking 158 goals, before he moved to Waverley Park.

While he has failed to impress on-field, he was also involved in an off-field incident with former Tiger Jake King earlier this year, in which Vickery was investigated by Victoria Police over extortion claims, while King was arrested and charged with threats to kill.
