Tasmania's entrance to the competition makes the 2027 out-of-contract list an interesting market.

As part of an array of list concessions, the Devils have the capacity to sign up to 18 out-of-contract players - one per club - across 2027 and 2028.

Concurrently, plenty of other clubs will be trying to lure the big names as the annual list build rigmarole takes place. 

We've gone through 10 of the best out-of-contract players still available to clubs at the end of next season.

Port Adelaide will be desperate to hold on to their spearhead who has kicked 39 goals this year, particularly with Zak Butters almost certain to depart at the end of this season. The tall forward will be in his prime, so will want to cash in, and the interest from back home in Western Australia has been consistent. The Power's trajectory will also be fascinating to track next year. There have been gloomy predictions surrounding the club's future, but they have exceeded those this year – can they take a step forward without Butters, but with the return of captain Connor Rozee in 2026?
