Tasmania's entrance to the competition makes the 2027 out-of-contract list an interesting market.

As part of an array of list concessions, the Devils have the capacity to sign up to 18 out-of-contract players - one per club - across 2027 and 2028.

Concurrently, plenty of other clubs will be trying to lure the big names as the annual list build rigmarole takes place.

We've gone through 10 of the best out-of-contract players still available to clubs at the end of next season.

Has been slated as an ideal inaugural captain for Tasmania, given he is skippering the premiership favourites this year and hails from the Apple Isle. The key defender has expressed openness to exploring what a move could look like, but if Fremantle stay at the pointy end for the next 12 months, would he be prepared to leave an era of success he's spent his career building? That question becomes even more fascinating if the Dockers fall just short in the next two years and Pearce has to weigh up skippering his state's inaugural side with potentially being a leader in Fremantle's inaugural premiership.
