The Western Bulldogs have announced four new deals on the eve of their finals campaign, with Robbie McComb, Riley Garcia, Toby McLean and Cody Raak all extending their time at the club.

Premiership Dog McLean has put pen to paper on a one-year deal, keeping him at the club until at least the end of 2023. McLean is yet to feature for the Dogs at senior level this season after recovering from an ACL injury, impressing upon his return in the VFL.

Since being drafted with pick 26 in the 2014 national draft, McLean has played 95 games for the Dogs, kicking 62 goals.

Joining the 26-year-old in signing on until the conclusion of 2023 is McComb and Raak, both rewarded for their consistent football.

Mature age recruit McComb has featured for the Dogs 12 times this season, averaging 12.9 disposals across his roles in both the forward line and midfield.

Raak, a Next Generation Academy graduate, is yet to debut for the Bulldogs, but has impressed in the VFL. The 19-year-old defender is set to continue honing his craft for at least another year after inking a new one-year deal.

Meanwhile, Garcia put pen to paper on a two-year deal after his seven games in red, white and blue this season.

Originally drafted with pick 62 in the 2019 National Draft, the 21-year-old has gone on to play 16 games in his career, averaging 10.9 disposals per game in 2022.

Bulldogs General Manager of List & Recruiting, Sam Power, said the deals were just reward for the quartet of Dogs.

“Toby has been with us for eight seasons and has faced a lot of adversity throughout his AFL journey,” Power said.

“He is a very respected teammate across the group and has provided fantastic support to the entire program during the rehabilitation of his knee injury over the past 12 months.

“Riley, Robbie and Cody are all part of our future at the Club and we’re thrilled to see these players sign on at the Bulldogs.

“Each of these individuals have shown attributes, both on and off field, that will hold them in good stead heading into the next stage of their AFL careers.”
