Port Adelaide veteran Ollie Wines will play on in 2027 after signing a one-year deal.
Wines' new contract now puts him in range to reach the 300-game milestone, needing nine matches next year. He is set to become the second-most capped Power player, behind club icon Travis Boak (387).
“I am thrilled to be signing on for another season,” Wines said.
“Watching the level of young talent coming through this club makes me excited for the direction we are heading.
“There have been times over the past couple of years where I wasn't sure if I would play on, but I feel like I have a renewed energy and an enthusiasm and can't wait to see what next year holds.
“I'm really proud to be a Port Adelaide player for another season.”
Wines was drafted by the Power in 2012 with Pick 7, and has been a revelation in the black and teal.
A Brownlow Medallist, All-Australian and John Cahill Medallist in 2021, the on-baller has also been a key part of the club's leadership group, and was co-captain in 2019.
Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps was pleased Wines made the decision to play on, helping guide the youth.
“Ollie has been a significant part of the club for a long time,” he said.
“The value he adds as a leader and a person can't be underestimated, especially the influence he can have toward the young players on our list.
“Ollie's ability to support our young leaders on and off the field is so important, and his calmness and composure under pressure is a testament to the person he is.”
Port Adelaide have already made wholesale changes to its list, farewelling star free agent Zak Butters as well as Mani Liddy (delisted), Jackson Mead (delisted), Will Lorenz (delisted), Xavier Walsh (delisted), Benny Barrett (delisted), Jacob Moss (delisted) and Ivan Soldo (retired).
Power coaching staff head of development Matthew Lobbe, development coach Cam Sutcliffe and SANFL coach Jacob Surjan are all on the way out, as is director of coaching Andy Collins.
Lachie Jones (2028), Ewan Mackinlay (2028) and Jordon Sweet (2030) have all penned new deals to remain at the Alberton club, while SSP duo Mitch Zadow and Balyn O'Brien have earned a one-year contract extension through 2027.
