Fremantle will welcome back Murphy Reid, Sam Switkowski, Jye Amiss and Heath Chapman into the senior side for Thursday's qualifying final against Hawthorn at Optus Stadium.
The quartet missed the Round 24 loss to Carlton, with Dockers coach Justin Longmuir strategic regarding managing players.
Since the club locked away the minor premiership, Longmuir has attempted to mitigate the risks, whilst also priming his charges for an all-out assault on a maiden flag.
"Like I said going into the Carlton game, if that was a final, we probably would've played (Reid)," Longmuir said on SEN.
"The docs were a little bit concerned, so whenever there was some concern in the back end of the year with players, we tend to leave them out.
"We left Sam Switkowski out, managed him. He'll be right. (Heath) Chapman is back in. He'll be right. He's training strongly. Jye Amiss. He rolled his ankle leading into the Carlton game, and we decided not to take any risks there as well, so he's trained strongly.
"Those four definitely will come back in the team."
Switkowski's retirement, announced at the end of the season, shocked the AFL world, especially ahead of the club's finals campaign.
The 29-year-old flagged his intention to do things outside of football, but the decision largely came as a surprise to Fremantle and Longmuir, who believes he still has plenty to give.
"I got wind of it early in the season," Longmuir said.
"For it to even be an option, it surprised me, to be honest. I feel like he has a lot of footy lef,t but when he said it, he left the door ajar a little bit. I thought I would be able to sway him, but he is very considered in the way he thinks. He's a very career-oriented person, and once he committed to that, there was no swaying him.
"Fully respect his call. I see how much work he puts in to get his body right, especially early in my time as coach and the diligence towards everything he does in footy is first class.
"I see why he made that call and fully support it, but surprised when he first mentioned it to us."
