Carlton great Brendan Fevola has revealed he has a torn MCL, torn meniscus, torn PCL, and a shattered kneecap after last Thursday's AFL Legends Game.
Fevola initially thought he suffered a partially torn quad tendon after colleague Nick Cody fell into his back after a marking contest in the first quarter.
However, the goal-kicking champion opened up about how that was not the case.
"I went and had scans on Friday. The doctor called me and said, ‘Everything's good!'… you've done a good job; there's a ligament tear, but you're going to be fine," Fevola said on The Fox's Fifi, Fev & Nick.
“Yeah, I could have kicked that goal! But I couldn't get up, and I couldn't move my leg… so I'm thinking, ‘Well, this does not sound right.' But the doctor has looked at the scans so it must be right! But I spoke to the Richmond [Football Club] doctor on Saturday. He was like, ‘What has actually happened to your knee?', and I was like, ‘I dunno, the doctor told me [ligament damage].

"He looked up the results, and he was like, ‘Urgh! Geez, you've done a good job! Mate, I can see you've got a torn MCL, torn meniscus, a tear in your PCL, and your kneecap is shattered, it's broken!' I was like, well, that explains it.”
"To Nick's credit, the PCL was already there. I've done a number. I'm going to be out for at least 6 to 12 weeks.”
