Legendary Cat Jimmy Bartel, in his appearances in the fixture, has uncorked a couple of memorable torps.

Hughesy's in the wars (2025)
Comedian Dave Hughes was a bit of a punching bag last year.
Footballer-turned-podcaster Dan Gorringe targeted the fellow Blues fan repeatedly, with the scrawny Hughes suffering serious injuries as a result of Gorringe's tormenting.
Gorringe was fined by the AFL for his conduct in the fixture.
Memorable, that's for sure.

Derek Kickett over-headed, wrong-footed from the pocket (2006)
The 152-game journeyman produced a moment of magic in 2006, when, deep in the left pocket, he kicked an inverted torpedo, of sorts, over his head and through the eye-diddle-diddle.
A moment that displayed the human highlight reel's freakish goal sense, long after he pulled stumps on a memorable playing career at the top level.

Vics win in shootout (2016)
The 2016 match went to a shootout, with scores locked at the final siren.
One of the game's true greats in Wayne Carey hit the post for the All-Stars, handing the Vics the win.

Andrew Jarman caught blokes (Jude Bolton and Tom Lonergan - hardly scrubs) cold holding the footy, started biffs, and soccered home a special major en route to best afield honours in 2018.
The big and bald bloke looked more a bikie than a five-time Fos Williams Medallist, but his performance was proof that the nous rarely leaves the very best.

Fitzy's late goal controversy (2011)
Swan-turned-Crow-turned-reality TV star-turned-radio personality Ryan "Fitzy" Fitzgerald thought he'd pinched one for the All Stars, after snapping a goal after the siren.
However, the goal was, in fact, after the siren, and was not a set shot, so it didn't count.
This "almost" moment is one of the best in the fixture's storied history, and is only improved by how flat and filthy "Fitzy" was after being informed his major would not stand.

Johnathan Brown after the siren (2017)
From the same pocket, six years later, Johnathan Brown's inch-perfect major after the siren would stand, as it was a set shot resulting from a mark.
It was a brilliant drop punt from one of the game's best proponents of it, and a fitting way to kick his fifth goal that evening. Adding to the serendipity of the moment, premiership teammate Luke Power was responsible for the pass that Brown marked.
"Browny" pointed skyward, as was his wont, and that was all she wrote.

Hutchy's goal (2011)
There could only be one moment to stand above the rest.
Journalist-turned-mogul Craig Hutchison, with a compression top under his jumper and anti-chafe skins under his shorts, sold his best candy to the man on the mark and unleashed a bending checkside from about 40 metres out, to leave the nation stunned.
No one knew he had it in him. It was as funny as it was impressive.
