Port Adelaide forward Mitch Georgiades has added two years to his contract, keeping him at the Power until at least 2029.

He was already contracted at the club until at least the end of next year, but the Western Australian has received rival interest, including from West Coast.

Georgiades' signature is an important coup as the Power prepares for the likely exit of Zak Butters.

The Power still has 20 players out of contract at the end of this year, so his commitment provides important stability.

In 2026, he scored 46 goals in 20 games and currently leads the competition for most marks inside 50 with 76.

“I am really excited to be sticking around at Port Adelaide,” Georgiades said.

“This place feels like home to me. I've got my best mates here, and I believe in what we're building.

“I love the people at Port Adelaide and it's been really cool seeing the growth of the young forwards, and knowing I can help lead them into the future.

Josh Carr is a strategic, composed and smart coach and I'm looking forward to playing under him for the next few years.”

Port Adelaide list boss Jason Cripps highlighted the significance of the signature.

“Mitch has become a highly valued leader of our forward line over the last three seasons,” Cripps said.

“His work-rate, athleticism and willingness to get better is what makes him the player he is, and he's a popular figure among his teammates.

“Mitch is a fantastic mentor to our young forwards and will continue to be an important part of our attack in the years to come.

“We look forward to seeing what he can achieve in Port Adelaide colours.”
