Port Adelaide coach Josh Carr's maiden coaching group has been finalised, with former Power defender Jacob Surjan rounding out the cohort after being appointed as the club's SANFL coach.

Surjan returns to Alberton after recently coaching North Adelaide, with his time at the Roosters coming to an end in May.

He spent six years at Prospect Oval, amassing 53 wins from 97 games as coach of the SANFL side, a spell that followed his time supporting Carr, who he succeeded in 2019.

Surjan has previously held a role in the Power's coaching ranks, having held a development role with their state league side and led the club's Academy over a decade ago.

The arrival of Surjan follows Port Adelaide's acquisition of Andy Collins (director of coaching), Stuart Dew (senior assistant and midfield), Luke Webster (defenders), Darren Reeves (forwards) and Mitch Clisby (development - forwards) this off-season.

"We are pleased to have finalised the coaching team around Josh Carr in preparation for the 2026 season, which gets underway next week when this group come together for the first time," Power CEO Matthew Richardson said.

"We have a diverse group with significant experience, which will lead and drive the AFL and SANFL programs.

"With the late change in the AFL panel, Darren Reeves will take ownership of the forwards and Hamish Hartlett will elevate into the important contest, stoppage and opposition role supporting Stuart Dew and the midfield.

"This created an opportunity with the SANFL program, and we are pleased to welcome Jacob Surjan back to the club to lead this important program. Jacob has been a successful SANFL coach, leading North Adelaide to two grand finals and will bring great energy and passion for the SANFL program and the development of our players."

The Power also have Hamsih Hartlett (contest, stoppage and opposition), Matthew Lobbe (head of development) and Cameron Sutcliffe (development - defenders) under Carr for his first year in charge of the Power.
