Sydney Swans footy boss Leon Cameron has rubbished reports that his club's suspended stars, namely Nick Blakey, are likely to be traded in the wake of the Pullman Hotel scandal.
Blakey, Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, James Jordon and Riley Bice were suspended by the club for their breaking of team rules, in the significant aftermath of August's alleged events.
In recent days, an "erosion of trust" between Blakey and the club has come to light, and Cameron did his best to downplay the trade rumours that have been born out of that breakdown.
"Nick hasn't spoken a word of this," Cameron told 3AW's broadcast, ahead of the Swans' reinvigorating victory over reigning premiers, Brisbane, on Saturday.
"Nick is contracted. He's got a five-year contract, and so that's real.
"Equally, I check in with the five guys - they're five good lads, I check in with them regularly. There's always going to be speculation (when) clubs go through a significant crisis, like we have gone through in the last two and a half weeks, but it's all speculation. Nick is contracted, and so are all the other guys as well.
"We'll work through what everything looks like when our season finishes, but I don't get tied up in that too much."
Blakey, an All-Australian in 2024, is one of the game's premier running half-backs, known for his dashing breaking of lines, foot speed and drive from the back half.
Noise continues to follow the son of John, a former North Melbourne 200-gamer, with speculation rife that his father's former club are in the mix for his services.
