Sydney is set to lead the primetime fixture for the opening two-thirds of the 2027 AFL season with nine clashes in the first 15 games.

Grand finalists Brisbane and Fremantle have eight primetime slots, while Hawthorn (seven), Adelaide (seven), Collingwood (six) and Geelong (six) all received some love.

St Kilda are the only team without a Thursday or Friday night slot in the first 16 weeks.

The season begins on Wednesday, March 17, with the Swans kickstarting the new campaign in Round 1 against Geelong at the SCG. The AFL Grand Final will be played on October 2.

Round 2 will be the Easter weekend, with Brisbane returning home to host Collingwood as they unfurl their premiership flag. They'll also take on Lachie Neale after he joined the Pies.

There'll be four Friday night double-headers in the opening 16 rounds.

Gather Round will begin on Thursday, April 8 with Adelaide and the Lions, and finish with a mouth-watering clash between Port Adelaide and the Western Bulldogs.
