Former Collingwood premiership player Mason Cox can see himself playing in the Northern Territory Football League (NTFL) once his AFL days are over.
Cox's time at the Pies ended after 139 games in 11 years, including the 2023 flag triumph, but he still has a burning desire to continue his footballing career at the top level.
The 34-year-old has revealed he has been in talks with rival clubs, but refused to unveil who they were.
But Cox has stated his interest in coaching and guiding the next generation of ruckmen, as well as playing local leagues if his top-flight days come to a close.
"A lot of people have messages to come and play in Darwin," he said on ABC's Summer Grandstand on Sunday.
"When I retire, hopefully in two years or whenever it is, I want to go up to the Tiwi Islands because I've had incredible experiences there and would love to play at that oval in an official game.

"I love giving back to the community, and I'm a massive supporter of the Indigenous community in Australia.
"They've taken me in as their own, and I would love to give back to them at some point."
Cox sees himself as a mentor to the next wave of talls trying to break into the AFL, while also having a strong presence in the media.
"I think for me, whenever that chapter does come around, I'd love to work in media and do some coaching," he continued.

"In the sense of being an American coming out, and helping him get used to the country or the game. Or other ruckmen that are coming through the ranks. I'd love to do something like that."
The NFTL has become a haven for a host of former AFL players once their careers have finished.
Superstars Eddie Betts, Dane Swan and Gary Ablett Jr have featured for clubs up in the Top End, while Quinton Narkle, Jed Anderson, Steven Motlop, Willie Rioli, Rory Atkins and Lloyd Johnston are all playing in the current season.
