GWS will make at least two changes at selection for this Saturday's trip to Tasmania to face Hawthorn, while more key names are expected to return from injury in the coming weeks.
The Giants will add duo Callum Brown (suspension) and Callan Ward (illness) to the side that defeated Geelong over a week ago, however will be without pair Stephen Coniglio (shoulder) and Harry Perryman (hamstring).
Coach Adam Kingsley mightn't decide on a straight two-in and two-out call at selection but will be able to fill the void left by Coniglio in midfield with the return of Ward.
Brown's return comes after a three-game ban saw the likes of Conor Stone, Ryan Angwin and Toby McMullin gain opportunities in the front half, with the latter duo featuring in Round 11 against the Cats.
The Giants could have defenderย Jack Buckley and star midfielder Josh Kelly back from calf injuries next week, whileย Lachie Ash (calf), Perryman and Conilgio could return in close to three weeks.
The plethora of players nearing the end of their respective rehabilitation programs - aided by the club's recent mid-season bye - is set to bolster the Giants at selection over the next month.
"We'll get Browny back from suspension and Wardy back from illness. They'll be the only two at this point in time," Kingsley said of his selection planning on Tuesday.
"[Kelly] won't play this week, but I would expect he would be fine for the week after. We'll see.
"We'll get a couple of people back each week for the next three weeks if everything goes to plan of course.
"But I will expect [Kelly] will miss this week and play next week."
The Giants come up against one of the form teams in the AFL on Saturday, with the Hawks a kick away from carrying a five-game winning streak into this weekend's clash in Launceston.
The Hawks fell to Port Adelaide by one point in Round 10, with that result in the middle of two-game undefeated patches for Sam Mitchell's side.
Hawthorn's midfield has proven to be the biggest threat in recent wins over Adelaide and Brisbane, with Kinglsey wary of how damaging Mitchell's engine room can be.
"I think in the last five games they sit third on the ladder with only Sydney and Essendon ahead of them,"
"That's evidence enough for us that they're a strong team in great form. They've beaten some really good opposition and lost to Port Adelaide over [in South Australia] in the last 30 seconds in the game.
"We're fully aware of the threat they pose to us, particularly at their home deck down in Tassie.
"They're a really strong stoppage team, they've been scoring from stoppage over the last month really well. The best in the comp.
"I love their midfield and love watching them play, hopefully not this weekend though."
The Giants managed two victories over the Hawks last year, with their winning margins combining for just 15 points.
The two clubs will meet at the University of Tasmania Stadium on Saturday at 1:45 pm (AEST).
