Star Brisbane recruit Lachie Neale has showered the midfield at his new club with praise.

This comes following the Lions’ 42-point win over Hawthorn in their JLT Series match.

"It's a really selfless group and I think everyone works for one," Neale said to afl.com.au.

"Whoever gets it, it doesn't matter.

"It's a pretty even spread.

"Guys want to work for each other.

"There's no egos in there.

"It's been really easy to work with everyone."

Neale had 31 disposals in the win and was one of ten players with 20 touches or more.

The Lions look set to make a big step up and compete for a finals place.

Their midfield will be a major part of that with the likes of Dayne Zorko, Lewis Taylor and Hugh McCluggage set to bolstered with the additions of Neale and former Suns player Jarryd Lyons.

Lyons was unexpectedly let go by Gold Coast at the end of 2018 after averaging 25 disposals for the season.

The 26-year-old looks set to earn a place in Brisbane’s 22 at the start of the year, further adding the Lions’ impressive midfield depth.
