Melbourne Demons superstar Kysaiah Pickett will again be sweating on the decision of the Match Review Officer, after he collected West Coast Eagles spearhead Jake Waterman high just seconds into Sunday afternoon's clash.

In contrast to some of his previous indiscretions, Pickett did appear to be making a play on the ball, which will undoubtedly factor in his defence, should one be required.

Also, a certainty to aid a potential case is the fact that Waterman was quick to his feet after the incident, and was not left concussed by Pickett's hit.

A sanction would add to a rap sheet already populated by suspensions for bumps on the likes of Collingwood's Darcy Moore, Carlton's Patrick Cripps, Adelaide's Jake Soligo and then-Bulldog Bailey Smith.

Pickett has been in almost peerless form to begin the season, elevating himself to the very top echelon of players in the league.

A prized midfielder-forward hybrid, the human highlight reel has been averaging 24 disposals per contest, while registering 12 majors from eight games.

His absence would represent a monumental selection headache for Steven King, who is enjoying a dream start to life as an AFL head coach, with his Demons flourishing under his tutelage.
