According to David King, Collingwood's main target in the offseason should be Steven May, not Tom Lynch.

Speaking on SEN, the North Melbourne champion said because of the Pies' limited defensive stocks, they must shift their focus to trying to acquire May.

"So you’re going to have Matt Scharenberg having an ACL, which is awful and we all feel for him – they’re not going to have a centre half back for next year," King said.

"If they’re going to be flag contenders next year, they’re going to need a marquee centre half-back."

To do so, King believes "Steven May is the player Collingwood must get."

May has played 111 games for the Gold Coast and in his second season as a captain at the struggling Suns.
