A pair of key members of the Brad Scott Essendon regime have departed the club.
The club confirmed on Friday afternoon that assistant coach Ben Jacobs and head of psychology and wellbeing Ben Robbins have departed their roles. Jacobs worked with the midfield group this year after taking charge of the backline last season.
Both men were closely aligned with Scott, with their decisions continuing a tumultuous week for Essendon, which is navigating a public push for James Hird's return following Scott's sacking.
A former North Melbourne midfielder, 2026 was Jacobs' fourth in AFL club land after starting his coaching career at St Kilda.
Robbins is highly regarded in the industry with 27 years of experience in high performance environments.
"The Club thanks both Ben Jacobs and Ben Robbins for their service and wishes them well," a club statement read.
"Brent Stanton will assume responsibility for midfield and stoppages coach.
