Western Bulldogs ruckman Tim English's season is in doubt after sustaining an MCL injury in his left knee on Thursday night.
A timeline has yet to be confirmed, but with just two home and away games before finals, he will likely need a bit to go right to get back this season.
It follows an MCL injury earlier this season in his right knee where he missed three weeks, so it will be touch-and-go to get back, but the club may be inclined to risk him for a Wildcard Round match.
English has also dealt with back issues and concussion throughout the year.
The 28-year-old has been used in a variety of ways throughout 2026 and has averaged 15 disposals and 22 hitouts.
It is a big blow for Western Bulldogs, which has tried tall utility Rory Lobb and youngsters Lachie Smith and Louis Emmett through the ruck in English's absence throughout 2026, and also has the untried Mid-Season Draft pick-up Caleb May on its list.
It comes after a bad loss for Western Bulldogs, whose top six aspirations ended with a disappointing loss to North Melbourne.
The Dogs have Melbourne and Carlton to come and may need to win at least one to absolutely guarantee Wildcard Round action.
