After 15 rounds, this season is still as tight as its ever been.
Just three wins separate Richmond in fourth from Fremantle in 14th, as this campaign is destined to come down to the final weekend before we know which eight teams will be playing finals this season.
In a season that has been this close, a very important statistic across the competition is each side's ability to effectively dispose the ball, and keep it away from the opposition.
When looking at AFL.com.au's stats surrounding disposal efficiency and clangers, there were some interesting results.
Possibly the most surprising is the positioning of Richmond on both lists.
The Tigers have been fantastic for a large portion of 2017, and their rock solid defence coupled with their intense forward pressure has seen them rocket into top four contention.
However, when looking at both categories, Richmond actually rank 18th in disposal efficiency (71.2%) and first in the most clangers per game (58.1), which alludes to the fact the Tigers are actually the poorest team in the league with ball in hand.
On the other side of the coin, for a side that has largely struggled for most of the season, Hawthorn look like a much better side on paper.
The use the ball the best across the league (first in disposal efficiency with 75.8%), and commit the third least clangers per game (50).
Amazingly, only three sides currently in the top eight on the ladder (GWS, St Kilda, West Coast) are among the top eight ball users, while the same three clubs are the only ones in the bottom eight of clangers per game.
