Essendon's football department is set for a new look in 2027 with former chief executive Craig Vozzo completing a review of the club's setup.

It comes as pressure mounts on Brad Scott following Essendon's 1-9 start to the season that has been characterised by leaders not standing up and defensive lapses.

With the next three games against bottom-three sides, there is a sense the Bombers need to start winning games of football to frank their improvement.

Scott has kept his cool when fronting the media in recent weeks, towing the party line that the club is unified in its direction and long term approach to build sustained success.

But Sunday's dismal first quarter against Fremantle was the latest in a catalogue of disappointing showings.

Speaking on Channel 7 on Tuesday evening, chief executive Tim Roberts was asked whether Brad Scott would coach next year: "Yeah look, Brad is part of the strategy, he's totally aligned. From where I sit, absolutely Brad Scott's going to be our coach."

As part of Vozzo's work, the Bombers are open to significant football department change.

Essendon leader Mason Redman was asked about the club's unity behind Scott on Tuesday.

"I think as players we've never waivered off the track we're on, obviously performances haven't necessarily been at the level we want them to be this year sitting at 1-9 but Brad fills us with belief week in week out and he's the man for the job," he said.
