The Tigers’ finals preparation is will underway with news that skipper Trent Cotchin (hamstring soreness) and key defender David Astbury (achilles soreness) are both confirmed outs for the weekend.

Richmond face Essendon on Friday night at the MCG, and with top spot already locked up, have the luxury of managing their players in the march to September.

The reigning premiers are also taking a cautious approach with gun midfielder Dion Prestia, who has also been ruled out of the Bombers’ clash due to a minor hamstring strain.

They will also be without premiership stars Dan Butler and Kane Lambert who are both recovering from ankle surgery.

Yesterday, Cotchin inked a two-year extension, extending his stay at Tigerland until the end of the 2022 season.
