North Melbourne star Ben Cunnington has received his fifth separate fine of the season, this time for striking St Kilda's Jade Gresham during their clash in Tasmania on Sunday.

Cunnington can accept a whopping $5000 sanction for the incident, which takes his season total to $15,500 in fines.

Nine players in total were fined over the weekend, with players avoiding suspension.

Fremantle's Nat Fyfe ($2000), West Coast's Liam Duggan ($2000), Port Adelaide's Dougal Howard ($2000), Adelaide's Brodie Smith ($2000), Hawthorn's Dan Howe ($2000), Essendon's Shaun McKernan ($2000), Port Adelaide's Hamish Hartlett ($1500) and Fremantle's Luke Ryan ($1000) all copped fines.
