Essendon have confirmed star forward Joe Daniher could make a return to the senior side in 2018, and have not ruled him out for the rest of the season.

Daniher hasn’t featured since round seven, as he continues to battle with osteitis pubis.

Essendon’s General Manager of Football Dan Richardson believes Daniher could return this year, after showing signs of progression over the past month.

“Joe has shown some progress over the past few weeks and remains a chance to play this season,” Richardson told essendonfc.com.au.

“His long-term health will not be compromised hence our medical team will remain conservative in their approach to his recovery and rehabilitation.”
