Collingwood leaders Nick Daicos and Brayden Maynard have insisted they didn't notice anything obvious on Thursday night in regards to Elijah Hollands, but have thrown their support around the troubled Blue.
Carlton confirmed that Hollands suffered a mental health episode during the match, and has been ruled out of the club's upcoming game against Fremantle on Saturday night.
Maynard said he didn't pay much attention to it, but noted that if he saw a teammate in that space, he'd "definitely say something to the hierarchy".
"I wasn't aware of what was going on, but I think there was a bit of chatter happening and I didn't pay much attention to it at all and if I did, I definitely would have said something," Maynard said.
"I overheard a few things, but as I said, I was too focused on the game to really understand what was actually going on.
"He was definitely around the area and people were chatting about it, but I was focused on playing the game and if I did notice something myself with Elijah I would have said something, but I was too focused on the game and I can understand why it's such a big topic.
"But I don't think it's a conversation that needs to be had from our end. I think Carlton are doing the best they can to have the situation handled and have the right people in charge to do that, so I don't need to make any more comments on that."
Daicos reiterated Maynard's stance, saying that he didn't notice anything untoward until after the match.
"It's quite sad, we just want to wrap our arms around him, and I think (Geelong star) Bailey Smith said it after the Cats game really well, ‘this is the environment we're in, where we'll support anyone that's going through a hard time'," he said on SEN.
"We'd like him to know that he's got our full support, and we hope he's going okay."
Pies speedster Beau McCreery admitted the scenes were "worrying".
Collingwood captain Darcy Moore, who is also the AFLPA president, refused to delve into the ongoing investigation, but noted that the representative body is "intimately" involved.
"I am not going to add any additional commentary, clearly a process is playing out with Carlton and the AFL at the moment," Moore said.
"As a Players' Association, we have been involved in the process intimately over the last few days, which is really encouraging and a great sign.
"The major concern is clearly just Elijah's welfare."
