Greater Western Sydney key forward Jake Riccardi is the latest Giant to be contemplating a move this off-season.
The 26-year-old has struggled to retain his place in the side as he battled the likes of Aaron Cadman, Max Gruzewski, Jesse Hogan, Jake Stringer and Callum Brown for a spot in the forward line.
Ruck Kieran Briggs (Richmond), Hogan (Collingwood) and Stringer (no club yet) have been confirmed as departures this off-season, and AFL media is reporting that Riccardi could follow suit.
The strong key forward has links with new Essendon coach Mark McVeigh after he spent a period of time as an assistant coach at the Giants.
The Bombers are in need of support for the emerging Nate Caddy in the forward line, and Riccardi could be keen to return home and get guaranteed game time after being stuck down the pecking order throughout his seven-year career.
Riccardi is out of contract at the end of the year and has kicked 124 goals from 98 games.
The Giants are in a period of transition with Hogan and Stringer out the door, while out-of-contract captain Toby Greene is weighing up a move to Geelong.
GWS is also reported to be open to letting contracted defenders Lachie Whitfield and Harry Himmelberg depart the club at the right price.
Himmelberg, 30, is contracted until the end of 2029, while Whitfield is 32 and contracted until the end of 2027.
The Giants could look completely different to how they have lined up for the past five seasons in Round 1, 2027, if the likes of Whitfield, Himmelberg, Greene, Hogan, Stringer, Riccardi and Briggs depart this off-season.
