Former Adelaide ruck Sam Jacobs is set to re-join his former club as an assistant coach after departing his current senior coach role.
Jacobs coached Woodville-West Torrens to finals in the SANFL this season, despite losing multiple players to AFL clubs in this year's mid-season draft.
Nine is reporting that the 38-year-old will return to the red, yellow and blue for 2027 as part of the coaching panel.
Jacobs departed the Crows at the end of 2019 after playing 184 games for the club.
A native of South Australia Jacobs was drafted to Carlton with Pick 1 in the 2007 rookie draft. He played 17 games across three seasons before returning to Adelaide to play for the Crows.
The 202cm ruck made the All-Australian squad on three occasions across his time at Adelaide. He also won three Showdown medals for the Crows during that time.
Jacobs then left Adelaide for Greater Western Sydney for the 2020 season where he played seven games for the Giants.
He will join senior coach Matthew Nicks' group as they head into the 2027 season under pressure to perform and make a deeper dent into finals football.
