Hawthorn key forward Calsher Dear has met with rivals Collingwood as the 21-year-old continues to canvas suitors in a bid to clarify his playing future.
Dear is out of contract at season's end, and is yet to put pen to paper at Dingley, where a two-year deal on less than league average is rumoured to be in front of him.
The Magpies are looming as major players in the trade period, with Lion Lachie Neale and Giant Jesse Hogan already nominating the club as their preferred destination.
Now, in a bid to shore up their forward line of the future, Seven's Tom Morris has revealed the needle movers have pitched to Dear.
Calsher Dear has met with Collingwood in addition to Melbourne as he weighs up his future.

The son of Norm Smith Medallist Paul, Calsher has fallen down the proverbial key forward pecking order in the brown and gold, with Jack Gunston, the newly re-signed Mitch Lewis and Mabior Chol filling the key forward positions in Sam Mitchell's weekly line-up.
The situation does not figure to improve for Dear, whose current side will also be adding Suns spearhead Ben King in free agency.
The Demons are believed to have put a four-year deal in front of him, while Geelong are also in the mix.
Dear broke out in 2024, kicking 25 goals from 17 matches as the Hawks returned to September for the first time since 2018.
