Stringer missed the entire second half of the Bulldogs’ win over Carlton at the MCG on Sunday after pulling up while reaching for his hamstring as he went to take off to run.
Club physiotherapist Chris Bell told the club’s website on Monday the injury will sideline the 23-year-old for a few weeks.
“We’ve assessed Jake today and can confirm he does have a hamstring strain,” Bell said.
“We’re going to put a structure around Jake but at this stage, we imagine he will miss the next two to three games of football.”
Meanwhile, defender Matthew Boyd, who missed the weekend’s clash, is a chance to return for this week’s match against the Suns.
“Matthew Boyd pulled up with some achilles soreness following the heavy, wet deck in Adelaide, Bell said.
“He’s continued to improve this week and we’ll wait to the back end of this week to make a decision on his availability.”
