A Gold Coast pair are set to face MRO scrutiny following the club's practice match loss to Brisbane on Thursday night.

Jed Walter and Jy Farrar both laid off-the-ball bumps in the last quarter of the 25-point loss.

Jed Walter collected Zane Zakostelsky with a high bump after the Lions youngster had disposed of the footy.

The bump is likely to be graded as intentional, with medium impact likely. Medium impact would be a two-match ban.

Farrar's, meanwhile, is less clear-cut.

His bump was also intentional, and although the contact was mostly to Darcy Wilmot's body, the whiplash caused by the incident could earn him a high contact charge.

The impact will likely either be medium or high. High impact and high contact would lead to a referral to the tribunal, while medium impact and high contact would lead to a two-match ban.

The victim of each bump was able to play out the game.

Untried Brisbane defender Luke Lloyd injured his ankle in a separate incident.

Logan Morris kicked four goals for Brisbane, while Zac Bailey was also influential, and Charlie Cameron looks ready to rebound to his pre-2025 form after a quieter home-and-away campaign last season.

For the Gold Coast, Christian Petracca was the best-performing player for the second consecutive practice match, while Wil Powell was dynamic in his new midfield role.

Brisbane kicks off its season at the Gabba on March 7 against Western Bulldogs, while Gold Coast starts at People First Stadium on March 6 against Geelong.
