The Gold Coast Suns have confirmed their leadership group for 2023 as the season approaches in less than a fortnight.

Touk Miller and Jarrod Witts will continue as co-captains for a second consecutive season.

Witts has served as co-captain since 2019, while Miller was elevated to captaincy last year in the midst of career-best form.

The seven-man leadership group remains entirely the same from last year, with Sam Collins continuing as vice-captain.

Rounding out the group is former captain David Swallow, Nick Holman, Sean Lemmens and Noah Anderson.

Miller said he is honoured to help captain a side looking to make finals for the first time, and said he himself is continuing to grow.

"It's a privilege to continue leading this club as we strive to become the first playing group to make history for the SUNS and achieve success in September," the dual club champion said.

"I'm eager to continue to learn and evolve as a captain of the club and build on the strong foundations we've set as a leadership group already."

Witts, entering his fifth season as captain, says each leader brings something different to the table.

"I'm honoured to continue to lead this great club and shape our direction as a football team," the 30-year-old said.

"Across the seven of us in the leadership group we have different skillsets which complement each other well.

"We have a great reach amongst the playing group and I'm confident this group will be able to continue to lead the club towards success."

Gold Coast have long been a team without stability, losing important players to rivals and failing to reach finals, while this continued with some players seeking trades, the unchanged leadership is a good sign for the Suns.

General Manager of Football Performance Wayne Campbell said it demonstrates good stability within the club.

"Our leaders have done a fantastic job in driving the standards of the playing group and have taken ownership of the team which is the sign of a strong leadership cohort," he said.

"To have an unchanged leadership group this season is a testament to what we have built over the past couple of years and the direction we are heading as a football club.

"We are really proud of the level of leadership across the entire playing group, and particularly the support the leaders get from the players themselves."

Gold Coast will travel to Blacktown to take on GWS in a practice match on Saturday at 11.10am AEST.
