Greater Western Sydney defender Sam Taylor has signed a new three-year contract extension to remain at the club until the end of the 2025 season.

Taylor, who was already contracted until the end of next year, revealed via the club's social media of his new deal after the Giants' emphatic 39-point win over the Tigers on Friday night.

In what was Taylor's 50th career game, the 22-year-old stated his excitement in locking away his future for a further three years.

While the Giants are yet to make an official announcement, the retention of Taylor is another major signing for the club, who announced Josh Kelly's new eight-year contract earlier this week.

Added to the milestone and new deal, Taylor was selected into the AFLPA's 22under22 squad this week.

The Swan Districts product is having a breakout campaign this year, which has been highlighted by a career-best evening against reigning Coleman medallist Tom Hawkins in Round 21.

Taylor amassed 17 intercepts, 21 disposals, 10 rebound 50s and seven pressure acts in a best-on-ground performance in the upset win over Geelong.

The consecutive wins now cement the Giants' place in the top-eight this season, with next weekend's clash against Carlton set to conclude their home and away campaign.
