Fremantle are planning to move young forward Sebit Kuek off the club's long-term injury list following a positive period in the Dockers' rehabilitation.

Since being recruited with Pick 15 in the 2022 Mid-Season Draft, Kuek has been dealt multiple setbacks, undergoing multiple shoulder surgeries and requiring a knee reconstruction.

The Western Australian club lodged paperwork last November to have Kuek placed on the inactive list alongside fellow forward Josh Corbett, with the Dockers going on to sign Jeremy Sharp and Patrick Voss via the Supplemental Selection Period over the summer.

With a further list spot open at the start of the season, the Dockers decided against entering this year's Mid-Season Draft and held out the vacant in the chance one of Kuek or Corbett could be available in the back-end of the 2024 season.

The club has since confirmed they will seek permission from the AFL to have Kuek moved back onto their primary list, with the East Perth product in line to return to action in the next month.

"Sebit will be returning in the next two to three weeks," Fremantle high-performance manager Phil Merriman said in a club update.

"That is really exciting for the footy club to have Sebit up and about."

Kuek played 13 games for Peel Thunder in the WAFL last year for a return of 25 goals, often pressing his case for an AFL debut at the lower level.

The 23-year-old could be back for Peel as they continue their premiership push, currently sitting top of the WAFL ladder after winning seven of their nine games so far this year.

The key forward's incoming return is the latest boost for Fremantle, who will have Brennan Cox back from a hamstring injury this weekend as he is expected to suit up for Peel for his first game since Round 1.

The Dockers have Michael Walters (hamstring), Nathan O'Driscoll (knee) and Oscar McDonald (knee) currently eyeing eventual returns from injury, while Corbett is not expected to play until 2025.
