Fremantle forward Josh Treacy has backed the Dockers to regroup and go again after their disappointing finals loss to Hawthorn, admitting the Hawks' game plan prevented the side from producing their best football.
Hawthorn arrived at the Dockers' home ground and brought pressure, with Treacy admitting Freo were unable to produce the football they played throughout the season.
"They come over with a plan, and really got a hold of us... we weren't able to bring what we brought all year... and [Hawthorn] got the better of us." the key forward explained to Fremantle Media.
Treacy, who was one who struggled on the night, kicking just one goal once the result was already out of reach, also commented on how the Hawks continued to frustrate Fremantle throughout the contest.
"They didn't really allow us to get going.... and once you chase in the game a little bit, it's quite hard to call things back." he said
The forward believes the Dockers can use the defeat as an opportunity to improve, calling on the group to rally together as they have throughout the season.
“We've been in this position before throughout the year, so rally the boys together as a collective, like we have all year, and you know, continue to get better because clearly our game's got improving in it.” the two-time Dockers leading goal kicker said.
“I've got full faith that they'll be here again next week. So yeah, I make a pledge that they join force again next week and really get out there for us.” he said.
