Unrestricted Melbourne free agent James Jordon has reportedly decided on his footballing future, naming his destination club of choice ahead of this year's free agency window.

Jordon recently expressed his desire to exercise his rights as a free agent this year, informing Melbourne of his decision to explore his departure options.

On Thursday morning, Jordon nominated the Sydney Swans as his preferred club, according to AFL Media journalist Cal Twomey.

According to Twomey, Jordon was understood to be deciding between the Swans, the Western Bulldogs, Essendon, St Kilda, and Carlton, who had all been linked to the Melbourne utility at different stages.

After losing Jordon, though, the Demons still figure to have plenty of off-season dealings to navigate, with the likes of ruckman Brodie Grundy and midfielder James Harmes likely to seek new ventures, while, on the other hand, Melbourne is expected to land wantaway Crow Shane McAdam via trade.
