Former Victorian cricketer and one-time teen cricket prodigy, Alex Keath, is a chance to make his debut for Adelaide in the Crows' blockbuster clash against Geelong on Friday night.

Keath, much like Will Sutherland who recently chose to pursue a cricket career over an AFL career, was involved in a tug of war between the two sports when he was an 18-year-old, before he chose to sign a three-year contract with Cricket Victoria. Keith had been drafted by the Gold Coast Suns in 2009 as an eligible 17-year-old, however, he walked away from the game and opted to play cricket.

However, after struggling to cement a regular spot in Victoria's or the Melbourne Stars' senior teams, he lost his contract with the Bushrangers and signed on with the Adelaide Crows as a category B rookie at the end of 2015.

Now, the 25-year-old is in the mix to make his AFL debut after impressing in the SANFL this season.

Key defenders Kyle Hartigan and Kyle Cheney are still out of the side, while Jake Lever is unlikely to play, leaving the door ajar for a an inclusion for Keath.

"Tom Doedee's name has come up at times," Adelaide utility Andy Otten said on Wenesday.

"Alex Keath is another tall option we could go with – he's been in ripping form in the SANFL.

"And then you can maybe do a bit of a shuffle and bring in (Paul) Seedsman or (Jordan) Gallucci, so we've got some options there definitely."

Keath stands at 198cm tall and weighs in at 97kg. He finished with 19 possessions, nine rebound 50s and seven marks in last weekend's SANFL clash with West Adelaide.

Meanwhile, Dodee, the other tall in the mix to make his debut, was selected at pick No. 17 in the 2015 National Draft and is 189cm tall.
