Collingwood Football Club is not in the business of a rebuild. It's not the way the Magpies have done things in recent years, and they certainly won't do it while generational superstar Nick Daicos is young and on their books.

Being the biggest club in the land is certainly a selling point, but the opportunity to play alongside Daicos is even greater.

So who are the players from across the league that Collingwood will be targeting this trade period to fill up their stocks for another charge at a flag?

Mitch Lewis (Hawthorn)

Collingwood is on the hunt for ready-made free agency talent, and Hawthorn key forward Mitch Lewis is exactly that.

Wouldn't cost the Magpies much and would arrive for free, meaning the club can use its trade capital at the draft.

Lewis has had a horror run with injury across the past few seasons, but in 2026 he seems to have put that behind him.

The 27-year-old has played every game and has grown in influence as the season has gone on, kicking 25 goals from 17 matches.

Collingwood is in desperate need of key forward talent, and if King was to land at Hawthorn this off-season it would likely push Lewis out of the side.

The 199cm key forward would want to be playing as much as he can given he has finally gotten his body right and playing consistent football.

Lewis played 12 games across 2024-25 after booting 36 and 37 goals in the two seasons prior.
