Collingwood Football Club is not in the business of a rebuild. It's not the way the Magpies have done things in recent years, and they certainly won't do it while generational superstar Nick Daicos is young and on their books.

Being the biggest club in the land is certainly a selling point, but the opportunity to play alongside Daicos is even greater.

So who are the players from across the league that Collingwood will be targeting this trade period to fill up their stocks for another charge at a flag?

Ben King (Gold Coast)

The Gold Coast sharp shooter has had a strange 2026 season.

He has led the Coleman Medal for the majority of it, but has had his overall impact questioned. While earlier in the year it looked like he would re-sign at the Suns, whereas now it appears he is heading back home to Victoria.

Despite Collingwood's magnitude and aura, the club has failed to attract a big key forward over the past decade.

Not since the days of Travis Cloke and his glove roaming around in attack have the Magpies had an All-Australian tall forward.

Collingwood is well-coached by Craig McRae and has the star power of Daicos, but its forward line needs a big marking tall to help the Magpies return to premiership contention.

Someone like King, who can play a deep forward role and secure a bag of goals week-in-week-out would be mighty attractive to the Pies recruitment team.
