Port Adelaide's attacking injury concerns look to have been compounded after emerging forward Mitch Georgiades was stretchered off in a SANFL match.

Georgiades was playing for the Port Adelaide Magpies against Sturt at Wigan Oval on Sunday - his fourth appearance for the Power's reserves this year.

The 21-year-old booted a goal in the opening term before suffering a suspected knee injury, with Georgiades stretchered off the field amid worrying scenes for the exciting youngster.

Georgiades had booted five goals from his three prior appearances for the Magpies this year.

The injury adds to further selection concerns for Ken Hinkley's forward line, with Georgiades likely to have been in the frame for a potential recall for the Power's Round 7 clash against St Kilda.

Port Adelaide will be without Todd Marshall for that trip to Marvel Stadium due to a concussion sustained against West Coast on Saturday, while veteran sharpshooter Charlie Dixon is on the mend from a jarred knee.

While Dixon will need to prove his fitness, Georgiades would also have been in the mix to return and potentially join Round 6 debutant Ollie Lord in Hinkley's side.

Port Adelaide, who sit sixth on the ladder with four wins and two losses, take on St Kilda at Marvel Stadium on Friday, April 28.
