Gold Coast is set for a $10,000 fine from the AFL if Gold Coast's Ben Jepson accepts his charge of careless contact with an umpire.
The club was sanctioned $20,000 in June for its fifth such offence in June and will almost certainly receive a further fine this week. The AFL hit Essendon with a $10,000 fine for its sixth offence, setting the likely precedent.
The league this year introduced club-imposed sanctions at the AFL's discretion if there were five or more incidents of umpire contact in the season as it looks to crack down on the issue.

Elsewhere, St Kilda's Dan Butler has copped a one-week suspension from the match review officer for a high hit on Mac Andrew in the fourth quarter of Thursday night's game.
The incident occurred in the third quarter and Jepson can accept a $1500 sanction.
It was graded as high contact, careless conduct and medium impact.
Butler is out-of-contract at the end of this year and his future is up in the air, after a season he managed just six goals in 10 games and spent time out of the side.
His was one of four charges laid on the night.
Hugh Boxshall and Tobie Travaglia were each hit with staging fines.
It was Boxshall's second offence and he was slapped with a $3125 sanction while Travaglia can accept a $1500 fine.
