The five Sydney players to return to the lineup as a result of the club-imposed suspensions have been revealed.

Caiden Cleary, Harry Cunningham, James Rowbottom, Angus Sheldrick and Tom Hanily make their way into the lineup, with the club not making any changes beyond the necessary five.

Rowbottom would have returned to the lineup regardless of this week's events, while the other quartet have been given a game to establish themselves ahead of finals.

Cleary has played eight games this year, most recently a five-disposal outing against Fremantle.

Sheldrick has played 17 games this year and has arguably had the biggest role of the inclusions, outside Rowbottom, before being squeezed out after Round 19.

Veteran Cunningham has played 12 matches as a dependable defender and also brings important experience to a lineup on its knees.

Hanily has played just four matches this year and 12 in his career.

Even with Cunningham's 231 games of experience, the Swans are replacing 716 games and five All Australian jackets with 474 games of experience and no All Australian blazers for its clash against North Melbourne on Sunday.

The changes also leaves Sydney's VFL program short changed, with the seventh-placed Swans facing Frankston in a do-or-die final this week with two debutants in action.

Acknowledging football is secondary for Sydney this week, not having VFL at a time where they will need to find fringe players for finals adds another layer of complexity for the club.
