Despite the last 14 years of mediocrity the Essendon Football Club have still produced some electrifying talent.

Though they have not been able to produce finals wins during this time, fans such as myself have loved watching these 10 Bombers stars don the red and black in the past 12 years.

It may sound crazy, but this list dates back to my six-year-old brain watching the Essendon 2012 season and falling in love with the heroes taking the field so that season is where this list starts.

Whether it be Anzac Day masterclasses, Dreamtime specials or lighting up the roof at Docklands, these Bombers have stood out over the last 14 years to me.

Players like Cale Hooker, Paddy Ryder, Jake Stringer and Brendon Goddard are unlucky not to make this list and others such as Nic Martin & Sam Durham have the potential to be at the top of this list in a few years time.

So here are my top 10 Essendon Bombers of the past 14 years.

1Jobe Watson

Watson was the prodigal son and the leader of one of the key eras of the Essendon Football Club.

Winning three club best and fairests and at the time winning the 2012 Brownlow medal before ultimately handing it back, Watson was the face of the Bombers for over a decade.

Watson could burst through any pack and give off a perfect pass to anyone on the ground and was the definition of a big-bodied midfielder which earned him two All Australian honours in 2012 and 2013.

Watson was the star that fans adored and was always able to make a real difference in games of footy.
