We are now 16 Round into a 2021 season that has produced plenty of surprises and upsets.

Whilst several teams have shot their way up the ladder, we want to look at the players who have been driving this success.

Carlton

Harry McKay

Among the shining lights for Carlton this season, Sam Walsh has continued to show his progression into a premium midfielder. The 20-year-old has carried the Carlton engine room, averaging 30 touches a game.

Jacob Weitering has also become a vital cog for the Blues down back, having taken the league's sixth most marks and total intercepts and is proving why he was a taken with the first pick of the 2015 draft.

However, the biggest improver for the Blues has been the seismic impact of Harry McKay, who has announced himself as the league's most potent forward.

Already an excellent contested marker, McKay has also vastly improved his accuracy towards goal. The forward has kicked 46.28 this year, compared to the 47.45 he shot in the last two seasons combined.

At only 23-years-of-age, McKay has rapidly become one of the most valuable players in the league.
