Hawthorn will unleash mid-season draftee Max Beattie for its Round 23 clash against Collingwood.
The 22-year-old was taken with Pick 12 in the 2026 Mid-Season Draft after producing a stellar campaign for the Woodville-West Torrens in the SANFL. Highlighted by a 30-disposal and five-goal effort in a match earlier in the year.
Hawthorn executive general manager of football Rob McCartney said the club is looking forward to what the 175cm forward can bring to the Hawks' line-up.
“It will be a special moment for Max and his family when he runs out in the brown and gold this Saturday night," McCartney said.
“Since arriving in our program earlier this year, Max has demonstrated his talents as a hard-working half forward who is always looking to get better.
“Off the back of his VFL form, Max thoroughly deserves this opportunity at AFL level. We look forward to him bringing his strengths and playing his role against the Pies.”
He initially injured his ankle after arriving at the club mid-year. However, in recent weeks Beattie has been a standout for Box Hill including a 23-possession, seven-mark and two-goal performance in his last game.
Hawthorn will host Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday night as the Hawks look to secure their spot in the top four with two rounds of the home-and-away season remaining.
