The podium for our 2024 MVP race has shifted after Essendon captain Zach Merrett moved into third following Round 6, which saw four players poll 20-vote games.

While leader Isaac Heeney has been able to extend his buffer over second spot, Merrett's 14-vote performance on Friday night has seen the Bombers star move into the top three and sit just 15 votes off the lead.

Suns gun Matt Rowell has moved into second after polling six votes against the Swans, with Melbourne's Max Gawn falling off the podium following his side's bye.

Port Adelaide pair Zak Butters and Connor Rozee sit in fifth and sixth respectively, while Carlton skipper Patrick Cripps has moved into the top ten following a perfect game against GWS.

Cripps' 20 votes see him set a season tally of 51 votes from six matches, one vote ahead of Western Bulldogs counterpart Marcus Bontempelli.

Bulldog Bailey Dale, Swans recruit Brodie Grundy and West Coast young gun Harley Reid also polled perfect games, the latter doing so despite not claiming the Glendinning-Allan Medal on Saturday night.

Hawk Dylan Moore and Adelaide's Jordan Dawson fell short of 20-vote games by just one vote, while Collingwood pair Nick Daicos and Will Hoskin-Elliott shared the most from Saturday's win over the Power with 16 votes apiece.

There was no clear standout in Geelong's win over Brisbane, with four different players earning best-afield nods from our judges. Tyson Stengle, Jack Bowes, Dayne Zorko and Jarrod Berry were each viewed as the BOG, with Stengle coming out on top with a total of 13 votes for the game.
