Dons aiming to prove critics wrong in 2016

Essendon are being driven by the critics who have written them off this season, says new recruit Mitch Brown.

Former Geelong swingman Brown, who was given an AFL lifeline by the Bombers in the 2015 AFL draft, says the the critics who expect Essendon to finish on the bottom of the ladder are driving the players.

“Obviously the critics are writing us off,” Brown said on SEN Radio on Monday.

“(The players) haven’t spoken about it but it’s a thought that everyone has, that no one expects us to do well.

“It’s driving us at the moment.”

Essendon already shocked some pundits, with their thumping win over Carlton in the NAB Challenge on the weekend, where Brown collected 19 disposals.
