Superstar Sydney midfielder Isaac Heeney put scares through the Swans camp on Friday night after he suffered with back issues late in the loss to Adelaide.

The 30-year-old has continued his stellar performances throughout 2026, but was seen nursing his lower back against the Crows.

However, Sydney coach Dean Cox didn't seem too concerned post-game about Heeney's availability for the final few rounds of the season after he finished out the match.

"(Heeney) was obviously sore for the back part of that game," Cox said.

"I think the thing with Isaac though is that as soon as he rocks up he wants to play and play the whole way through.

"When you want him to play ahead of the ball as well to try and kick you a score and then around the middle of the ground when we need some ascendancy, he is probably the one we always look to. He has carried a fair load this year."

Star Swans key forward Charlie Curnow had a quiet game against the Crows with only two behinds from his seven disposals.

The two-time Coleman Medal winner is on track of adding a third to his glittering resume, but if there was one consistent criticism of Curnow it was that he tends to go missing in big games.

Cox argued the case for his gun key forward, stating that he had been one of the side's best players this season with 50 goals for the year.

"(Curnow) was one of a few that we need to make sure we (get more out of)," he said.

"To Charlie's credit, he has been as consistent as anyone. Playing on some really good defenders, (the Crows) have enormous heat on the ball so the flow to be able to get really good looks wasn't at the level and he has those nights.

"I know one thing he will do is he will get to work as quickly as he possibly can and will want to play as well as he possibly can next week."
